On 13th November 2013, in the Ljubljana City Museum, Gosposka 15, Ljubljana, the final national conference in the framework of the Integration Package for Unemployed Migrants, Refugees and Asylum Seekers project will take place. The collaborators of the project Integration Package are the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia, Slovene Philanthrophy, and The European Trade Union Confederation, with the financial support of the EU social funds.
Since the beginning of the project in December 2010, the collaborators have been intensively working on information, advice and advocacy for migrant workers and their families, as well as refugees and asylum seekers. In all this time, they have faced and open new problems, that prevent the target groups from full participation in society. At the same time the collaborators have opened the doors of various competent institutions and organizations both at home and abroad, with whom they have established regular contacts.
At the final national conference the collaborators will present their work on the project and ways of cooperation with the competent authorities and the increasingly intense international cooperation. They will try to give at least part of the answer to the question "Where are the boundaries?" which is a question the collaborators in the project often ask themselves in the face of numerous stories of abuse, exploitation and violations of the fundamental rights of those who were brought to Slovenia by dreams of a better life. The conference will bring together representatives of various ministries and other competent authorities, advocates of the rights of migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers and of course migrants, asylum seekers and refugees themselves.
