In both activities the focus will be on immigrant women’s conditions in the participating countries, their educational and linguistic needs’ analysis, the evaluation of guidelines for the creation of a literacy course for immigrant mothers to easily communicate with their childrens’ school environment and to integrate themselves socially and professionally in the country they chose to live in. The seminars will present shared experiences, talks about producing and managing of a literacy course for immigrant women, from the linguistic and IT point of view.
MAMM aims to develop a European dialogue about strategies and mechanisms of linguistic and cultural education of immigrant women in different countries. The method will include linguistic literacy and some ICT skills, and institutional culture of the residence country to improve motivation for the use of the new language, to improve multicultural dimension and women’s professional aptitude. The project aims to create a network between participants to continue debates and work exchanges in the next future.
The workshop will result in a pamphlet and a report including: learners’ needs, learning pathway of a literacy course for women/mothers, ideas to facilitate their participation to their childrens’ school education, informatics literacy. The final product will be a new literacy program for immigrant mothers in the involved countries to be submitted to school institutions, based on a method suitable in various national contexts.
