Documentary-series and debate 'Deported': following the children of derported asylum seekers
(Kommunikation - Niederlande - Niederländisch) (Inoffizielle Übersetzung)
The current government included 'children's pardon' which means that children of asylum seekers who have been living in the Netherlands receive a residence permit; provided they meet certain conditions. Not every child meets these requirements and some will soon return to the country of their parents. The TV-series 'Deported' by broadcaster VARA followed children of rejected asylum seekers who were deported to the country of their parents during the past decade. Reporter Sinan Can searched children from Afghanistan, Iraq, Armenia, Kosovo and Angola to see how they are doing. Together with Humanity House, VARA organizes a debate after releasing the documentary-series.
