The series 'Migrant Narratives' comprises short documentary films that aim to give a platform for expression for people who have come to Poland from abroad. The term 'migrant' in the title is not intended to refer to legal status, but rather to a way of being, a mentality, an experience, which is illustrated by the people in the films.
During the Saturday screening, which will be the culminating event for an urban scavenger hunt organized by the Association 'One World' under the theme of 'Secure Your Citizenship of Multicultural Warsaw!', the Foundation for Social Diversity is organizing a screening of two films from our Series: 'Fatima' and 'Why am I Chocolate?'. The films we’ve chosen illustrate the complex cultural and national identity of children raised in multicultural households and the challenges faced by migrant children in the Polish educational system. The films also offer material for reflection about a developing multicultural society in Poland. After the screenigs, our trainer and coordinator of our educational programs, Agnieszka Kozakoszczak, will lead participants in a discussion.
