Rural development statistics
Rural development statistics aim to measure economic, social and environmental issues related to rural areas. They give an insight into the specific features of the regions (NUTS 3) in the light of their rural/urban types.
More detail on this typology can be found in the 'Methodology' section.
Rural development statistics may answer questions such as:
- Is the unemployment risk higher in predominantly rural regions?
- Is the ageing of population more pronounced in predominantly rural regions?
- Which are the more important sectors in predominantly rural regions?
