The rate of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion — abbreviated AROPE — refers to the share of the population who is either at risk of poverty, or severely materially deprived or living in a household with low work intensity.

Between 2006 and 2014, the bar chart below shows significantly higher rates of people being at risk of poverty or social inclusion for the non-EU-born immigrant population (people born outside the EU) than for the EU native-born population (people born in one of the EU Member States).
