The high-level conference ‘Power from Statistics; delivering the evidence of tomorrow’ will bring together a multidisciplinary audience, consisting of policymakers, journalists, business leaders, academics and official statisticians. Over two days participants will discuss the future needs for evidence to inform policy, and how these information needs may be met by the European official statistics community of tomorrow.
The conference will address statistical evidence in fields such as migration, globalisation, sustainability, and new economic and business models. The Power from Statistics Outlook Report (which contains articles in these domains written by various stakeholders) is a key input to the conference.
The conference will also look at how to best meet information needs. The new digital publication ‘Women and men in Europe’, which is due out on 18 October, is an example of a new approach for this.
Although registration is closed, you may follow the conference through web-streaming.
You will also be able to interact with the speakers by posting your comments and questions via Twitter #PowerFromStatistics, and by downloading the conference app to vote on their proposals.
The "Power from Statistics" conference is the central event marking the European Statistics Day (ESD) that will be celebrated by the European official statistics community for the second time on Friday 20 October 2017.
