The National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria published its newest report ‘Cities and their urbanised areas in the Republic of Bulgaria’, available in Bulgarian and English. Prepared with the financial support of European Commission, it provides reliable and internationally comparable information on cities and their functional urbanised areas.
Data collected on the demographic, social, economic, ecologic and cultural development of cities and their urbanised areas support the elaboration of regional and urban development plans seeking for prosperity and sustainable development. The publication contains maps, tables, graphs as well as information on land use and land cover in the areas observed.
This publication addresses government and local authorities, business, policy makers, researchers, lecturers, students, experts and citizens who are interested in the social-economic and spatial development and planning of regions in the Republic of Bulgaria.
On 3 February 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Statistics Office of Georgia signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of statistics.
