International Youth Day 

On the occasion of the International Youth Day, which is celebrated each year on 12 August,
Eurostat publishes some data visualisation as well as some interesting facts & figures
on young people in the European Union.

DID YOU KNOW? DID YOU KNOW?

… that in 2014, 15 % of young* Europeans created websites or blogs? This ranged from 47% in Finland to 3% in Cyprus.

… that Germany recorded in 2014 the highest share of young people playing networked games with others (41%) while the lowest was observed in Slovakia (19%)?

 

… that in 2015, 13% of young Europeans were active on professional networks online? This varied from 32% in the Netherlands to 5% in Romania.

 

… that Portugal registered in 2015 the highest proportion of young people uploading photos, videos or text to the internet to share with others (83%)  compared to 48 % in the EU?

 

… that in 2015, 9 out 10 young Estonians used the internet to interact with public authorities?

 

* Young people: population aged 16-29 years.
