Household expenditure by purpose in the EU, 2016

Eurostat publishes a data visualisation tool as well as some interesting facts & figures on household consumption expenditure in the EU.

... that Denmark had the highest share of household expenditure for housing* (29.1% of total expenditure), while the lowest share was observed in Malta (10.3%)?

…that the highest share of household expenditure for restaurants, cafés and bars was found in Spain (14.8% of total expenditure), while Poland (2.5%) had the lowest?

… that Lithuania recorded the highest share of household expenditure for food (20.6% of total expenditure), while the lowest was in the United Kingdom (7.1%)?

… that the highest share of household expenditure for communication services was observed in Bulgaria (4.8% of total expenditure), while Luxembourg (1.6%) had the lowest share?

… that Cyprus recorded the highest share of household expenditure for hotels (8.5% of total expenditure), while the lowest was observed in Finland (0.5%)?

 *Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.

All data refer to 2016.
