PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Main objective

The general concept of this Project is to improve and apply the methodology for data linking and ICT impact analysis that was developed in the ESSLimit Project and the ICT Feasibility Study (Grant agreements number 50701.2010.001-2010.578 and 49102.2005.017-2006.128), and to generate micro-aggregate datasets for future use. The earlier projects demonstrated that a wealth of information can be extracted by microdata linking, through which already available data can be analysed in completely new ways. This final phase of ICT impacts work fits well with the goals of the MEETS programme (efficient production of statistics and secondary use of data), while the analytical work relates to the themes of the EU Digital Agenda.

Together with the national statistical offices, the following partners participated in the Project activities:

Academic Advisors: Eric Bartelsman Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, and Patricia Kotnik, University of Ljubljana

Collaborators: Chiara Criscuolo (OECD), Andrea De Panizza (OECD), Martin Falk (WIFO), Anna Sabadash (JRC-IPTS)

Workstreams

WS1: Administration

This Workstream mainly consists of the general project management including data sharing and dissemination of information.

WS2: Impact Analysis

The main task for this workstream was to update and further develop the project software (Common Code) and methodology for impact and descriptive analyses initiated by the ESSLimit and ICT Impacts projects. The undertaking also included an update of the metadata repository and the inclusion of more recent years to the project datasets. Furthermore, code development was undertaken to allow future use of the data infrastructure.

Timing and fulfilment of the deliverables from both workstreams can be consulted from the Final Report.
