Annual Programmes East
The TACIS 
/MEDA (until 2006) or ENPI (from 2007) Annual Programmes set out the amount of funding per year allocated to each of the ENPI partner states, and for the regional and interregional actions foreseen in the southern and eastern ENPI zones. They describe in detail the programmes, projects or actions to be financed with those funds in a particular country or region. "Annual" in this respect refers to the budget year, and not to the duration or period of implementation of the actions described in the Annual Programmes, which usually cover several years counting from the date of the allocation.
The assistance priorities at the basis of the Annual Programmes are defined in the multiannual National and Regional Indicative Programmes which in turn derive from the Country and Regional Strategy Papers.

Northern Dimension Environmental Partnership Support Fund
The Northern Dimension Environmental Partnership (NDEP) forms part of the Northern Dimension, an initiative of the European Union, launched in 1999 that aims at bringing together the EU’s external policies and instruments operating in a broad geographic area stretching from the Arctic and Sub-Arctic to the southern shores of the Baltic, including notably North-West Russia.

Nuclear Safety
The Tacis programme for the improvement of Nuclear Safety in the New Independent States represents an important sector in the European Community’s Tacis programme to these countries and is one of the most important western nuclear safety assistance programmes.
From 1 January 2007 onwards, as part of the reform of EU assistance instruments, the Tacis Nuclear Safety Programme was replaced by a new instrument – the Instrument for Nuclear Safety Co-operation (INSC).
