Where we work
The EU has a coherent European Neighbourhood Policy to direct relations with its eastern and southern neighbours. A Strategic Partnership based on four Common Spaces is the framework for relations with Russia, which is not part of the ENP. Since January 2007, Commission programmes that run under the ENP and the Strategic Partnership have been implemented mainly through a common financial instrument: the ENPI (European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument).
Cooperation with countries of the Eastern Neighbourhood and Russia will focus on: transport; energy; sustainable management of natural resources; border/migration control; socio-cultural relations; and dealing with abandoned munitions and landmines.
Cooperation with neighbouring Mediterranean countries will prioritise the spheres of justice, security and migration; sustainable economic development; and socio-cultural exchanges.

Support to the movement of people
Activities of the project focus on three components: strengthening and specialization of the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills; orientation and training; information and documentation in the context of the Barcelona process. -

The 'Aqaba Special Economic Zone' aims at turning the region into an engine of economic growth and an international tourist attraction. Aqaba is now one of Jordan's main tourist destinations, with the local community fully integrated in this process. -
Network of Friendly Support for Abandoned Children
The "Network of Friendly Support" provides a family-style support mechanism for abandoned children in Ukraine. At the rehabilitation centre constructed, children benefited from medical services and social workers received extended training. -
European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) to Moldova and Ukraine
The Moldova-Ukraine European Border Assistance Mission aims to satisfy the legitimate needs of the citizens of the two countries. It has led to strong efforts to meet European border standards, improve cross border cooperation and counter corruption. -
Education Enhancement Programme (EEP)
Through facilitating access to primary education for all, reducing drop out rates, improving the quality of student performance and strengthening planning and management capacities at all levels, the education system is to be improved in Egypt.
