At the last EU-Latin American summit in May 2008, leaders signed the Lima Declaration with climate change as a key theme.
The Lima Declaration identifies EUROCLIMA as an EU-LA environmental programme with a special focus on climate change and these main objectives: knowledge sharing, fostering structured and regular dialogue at all levels, and ensuring synergies and coordination of current and future actions.
The 3-year EUROCLIMA programme was approved at the end of 2009 and is due to start in first half of 2010.
