EU development funding to Panama aims mainly to support political dialogue with the EU.
EU Aid programmes
In 2002-2006, the European Commission provided funds for:
- strengthening the economy (30%)
- strengthening democratic state institutions (40%)
- social development (30%)

You will find the list (in Spanish) of current projects on the website of the Delegation of the European Union to Panama.
In 2007-13, the EC foresees to provide €38M in funding for:
- modernising and strengthening institutions to promote social cohesion (75%)
- integration with Central America (25%)
