Since 1990, Commission funding for ACP countries has risen steadily each year in real terms – and now it is spending more than ever before on aid for trade. Since 2001, more than €850 million of Commission funds have been used to help ACP regions to boost trade and integrate into the world economy.

Since June 2004 the EC has been helping to strengthen routine immunisation of children in Nigeria. The project supports the government in improving the management of vaccination services, creating awareness and building the capacity of health workers

The Sool Plateau Livelihood and Food Security Project
The EC has been helping pastoral farmers to address water shortages in north-east Somalia. Pastoral associations have been set-up and farmers receive regular training. Also, grazing lands can receive water more regularly via new water infrastructure.

Employment Intensive Programme in Support of Mogadishu
