Request for candidatures for EU Election Observation Missions and related trainings

LEGAL / HUMAN RIGHTS TRAINING - Brussels, 18-21 June 2013

The Election Observation and Democratic Support (EODS), a project funded by the European Commission, will carry out a Training for Legal / Human Rights experts in EU EOM from Tuesday 18 until Friday 21 June 2013. The training is for a maximum of 16 candidates and will take place at the EODS office, located at 82 Rue de la Loi, 1040 Brussels, Belgium. The duration is four days and the language of the training is English.

  • The EODS project will cover travel and living expenses required for participation in the training.
  • Focal Points are asked to propose a MAXIMUM of TWO candidates with ONE reserve.
  • Individual applications are encouraged. Applications can be sent to training@eods.eu

13 May 2013 - Request for Candidatures EU EOM Mali 2013 Core Team

The European Commission wishes to initiate the selection procedure for Core Team positions for the EOM to observe the Presidential Elections in Mali, tentatively scheduled to take place on 7 and 21 July 2013 (dates tbc).

The Commission invites interested applicants to submit their candidature for one, and maximum two, of the following positions:

  • Deputy Chief Observer
  • Legal Analyst
  • Election Analyst
  • Political Analyst/ Country expert
  • Media Analyst
  • Press and Public Outreach Officer
  • Observer Coordinator
  • Data Analyst

Deadline for application: Tuesday 28 May 2013 (midnight, Brussels time).

23 April 2013 - UPDATE!!! Request for Candidatures EU EOM Madagascar 2013 Core Team

Following its request for candidatures of 8 April 2013, the European Commission wished to re-launch the call for candidates for the three Core Team positions for the EOM to observe the Presidential and Legislative Elections in Madagascar, scheduled to take place on 24 July for the first round of the Presidential election and on 25 September for the run-off of the Presidential election and the Legislative election.

  • Deputy Chief Observer
  • Election Analyst
  • Statistician and Demographic Data Analyst

Candidates who have already submitted their application for the above-mentioned positions are invited NOT to submit their application again as their first application will be kept and considered again.

Candidates will be informed upon the completion of the selection process for all positions.

Deadline for application: Wednesday 1 May 2013 (midnight, Brussels time).

17 April 2013 - OBSERVER COORDINATOR TRAINING - Brussels, 28-31 May 2013 - request for applications

The Election Observation and Democratic Support (EODS), a project funded by the European Commission, will carry out an EU EOM Observer Coordinator Training from Tuesday 28 until Friday 31 May 2013. The training is for a maximum of 16 candidates and will take place at the EODS office, located at 82 Rue de la Loi, 1040 Brussels, Belgium. The duration is four full days and the language of the training is English.

  • The EODS project will cover the travel and living expenses attached to participation in the training.
  • Individual applications are encouraged. Applications can be sent to manuel.sanchezdenogues@eods.eu.  Please visit the EODS website to learn more about the application modalities.
  • The deadline for reception of applications is 26 April 2013.

The European Commission wishes to initiate the selection procedure for Core Team positions for the EOM to observe the Presidential and Legislative Elections in Madagascar, scheduled to take place on 24 July for the first round of the Presidential election and on 25 September for the run-off of the Presidential election and the Legislative election.

22 March 2013 - Request for Candidatures for EU EOM Lebanon 2013 Core Team

Please note that the date for the Parliamentary Elections in Lebanon has been revised as 16 June 2013 and that this will have an impact on the tentative assignment dates of the EOM team members. Candidates will need to offer full flexibility in terms of their availability for the EOM!

The European Commission wishes to initiate the selection procedure for Core Team positions for the EOM to observe the Legislative Elections in Lebanon, scheduled to take place on 9 June 2013.

The Commission invites interested applicants to submit their candidature for one, and maximum two, of the following positions:

  • Deputy Chief Observer
  • Legal Analyst
  • Election Analyst
  • Political Analyst
  • Media / Press Analyst
  • Data Analyst
  • Campaign Finance Analyst
  • Observer Coordinator


The deadline for Core Team applications has been extended to Monday, 15 April 2013, 12:00 (noon), Brussels time.
