On 12 November 2015, the European Commission and 27 donors launched the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for stability and addressing root causes of irregular migration and displaced persons in Africa on the margins of the EU-Africa Valletta Summit on Migration.

The geographical scope of the Trust Fund, as set out in its constitutive agreement, covers three regional windows: the Sahel region and Lake Chad, the Horn of Africa, and the North of Africa.

These general information sessions will aim at providing participants with a clear understanding of how the Trust Fund works from an operational point of view. The objectives will be to (i) present the overall framework, (ii) outline how the Trust Fund operates in terms of participatory Governance (i.e. Boards and Operational Committees), (iii) explain which procedures are followed with regard to the identification and formulation of actions and (iv) clarify which implementation modalities can be used for actions financed by the Trust Fund.

A Q&A session on procedures and implementation modalities will be opened after each presentation.

Registration is necessary to access the information sessions as the Infopoint capacity is limited to 60 persons per session. Therefore, we kindly ask you to restrict your registrations to 1 representative by organisation. Please note that registrations will be on a first-come first-served basis.
