As the European Union Bank, the European Investment Bank (EIB) finances operations outside Europe in support of the EU’s development policies.
It is the only multilateral financing institution engaged in both Europe and the countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACPs), and is the world’s largest public lender.
This information session, the first of a 3-part programme* exploring 50 years of activities in the ACPs, will provide an introduction to the EIB’s financing in the regions, including an overview of its role within the EU development policy framework, as well as the instruments and products it uses.
*Parts 2 and 3 are following on June 6 and 27 respectively, at the External Cooperation Infopoint
