The InfoPoint invites you to participate to a lunch time conference on solar photovoltaic energy in the development context. As prices are in freefall, companies are looking for markets worldwide. The event will review status of the markets, challenges, as well as possible solutions, using the illustrative example of Kenya as the East African regional "Power House".  Kenya is in many ways, a particularly well-placed country : the solar ressource is excellent, governement ownership and commitment towards private sector in the energy market is positive and well-codumented, the policy & regulatory framework has already greatly improved, and there is substantial dynamism and existing capacity in the local private sector.

Michael Franz who worked a lot on solar PV will present us with sme fresh, first-hand impressions of the market segments, the respective state of play and possible areas for support interventions.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion with the public.

As this conference will last for 1,5 hours, the EUEI PDF offers a "brown bag lunch".
