This year, on October 31st, the world population reaches 7 billion. A growing population of adolescents and youth aged 10 to 24 in developing countries is not so much a challenge as an opportunity; and improving access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including voluntary family planning, is an investment for the future. European support to SRHR can positively improve young people’s potential to serve as change agents in their communities and nations. With the right policies, investments and social support, young people can enjoy healthier lives free of poverty and enhance prospects for peace, stability and sustainable development.
