The ACP-EU Water Facility was set up in 2004, with the principal objective of providingwater and basic sanitation to the poor, and toimprove water management governance in African Caribbean and Pacific Countries.
During the 2 last years, the 9th European Development Fund (EDF) allocated €497 million to the ACP-EU Water Facility which financed 175 projects in many ACP countries. In terms of end-beneficiaries, about 14,5 million people are estimated to benefit from access to safe waterthanks “Water Facility Programme”.
Our speakers will illustrate the success of the implementation of the programme thanks to 3 “stories” in Senegal, Haiti and Timor-Leste.
This conference will be a preamble for the Conference on 9th February for the launching of the 10th EDF ACP-EU Water Facility- "Access to water, access to health".
