Seit dem das Lied begonnen hat,
alle 2 Sekunden was ein Fakt,
sind schon 10 Kinder nicht mehr da,
ist nicht eure Schuld ganz klar.
Schaut in den Nachrichten zu,

Die Politik muss etwas tun,
ihr werdet aber auch nicht länger ruhn,
wählt jetzt gleich und zwar radikal,
alles andere wär ja banal.
Weihnachten schenkt ihr euer Geld in schwarze Hand,
dass Armut bleibt in armen Land.

Wie sehr schieben wir Ignoranz mit her?
Mitleidsvolle Blicke ansonsten kommt nicht mehr.
Wie oft halten wir die Ohren zu,
dass all die Schreie schneller ruh´n.
Unser Konsum bringt andere um,
doch wer schlägt Nächte damit rum?
Wir könnten alle noch mehr tun.

Und dein Kind das lernt in der Schule,
soll nichts hören über Armut, Hungernde und Schwule.
Der Verlauf der Kurve ist was du diskutierst,
zu vieles Hinterfragen schnell kurierst.

the poverty remains in the poor country.

Our consumption is killing the others,
but who passes sleepless nights about this?

And your child is learning at school,

too much questioning is quickly resolved.

Poverty can only be eliminated when people stop looking away from the problems of the world. We believe that everyone can contribute to poverty. Wir denken, dass jeder einen Beitrag gegen Armut leisten kann. Mit Taten, Diskussionen, Hinschauen (und nicht zuletzt durch Musik) kann man schon vor der eigenen Haustür beginnen oder global helfen.
