| Results |
| The Commission proposal for a new Development Policy will be ready before the end of July 2005. It will consist in a two-part statement, with the first part addressing the objectives, principles and values of EU development policy applying to the EU Member States and the Community, and the second part providing guidance for its implementation at the EC level. I hope that the Council and the European Parliament will be able to reach a consensus on the Commission proposal, which could then become a Tripartite Statement on EU Development Policy.
