Joint Evaluation of General Budget Support - ref. 705
The General Budget Support evaluation was a joint - partner country and donors - exercise, managed by a Joint Donor Management Group [17 KB] - DFID, European Commission (Relex Family evaluation unit), the Netherlands and Belgium - on behalf of an International Steering Group - Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, European Commission, France, Germany, Ireland, IADB, IMF, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, OECD/DAC, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, World Bank, Governments of Burkina Faso, Malawi, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Uganda, Vietnam.
The purpose of the evaluation was to evaluate to what extent, and under what circumstances GBS is relevant, efficient and effective for achieving sustainable impacts on poverty reduction and growth. The evaluation focused on identifying and evaluating different approaches to GBS on testing a methodology for evaluation of GBS and specifically learning.
The evaluation resulted on seven country evaluations:
