'HR Excellence in Research' logo awarded to institutions actively implementing the European Charter and Code for Researchers Postdoctoral Fellow in Geohazards/Rock slope failures

The Department of Geology has a Postdoctoral Fellow position vacant. The position will be part of the research groups in Crustal Dynamics and Coastal and Terrestrial Geosciences. You will carry out independent research on topics of your own choice in collaboration with the Department of Geology, and other research group within the geohazard field in Norway.

The research should in general focus on some of the challenges related to rock-slope failures in northern Norway. Some of the emphasis should be on the internal bedrock structure and geomorphological elements as controlling factors for stability and initiation of collapse/failure. The detailed understanding of deformations and kinematics of slope failure and its controlling external factors should also be an important task. In particular, we would like to see candidates using new technology and software in terms of investigating geological structures and movement patterns. This could be both ground-based and satellite-based.
