We are seeking to recruit two Research Officers to carry out a research project within the NutraMara Programme. The project aims to develop novel processes for the isolation of biochemical components from marine by-products. Additionally, the project aims to characterise these biocomponents and to identify, isolate and characterise novel bioactive components.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•To conduct a specific programme of research relating to the development of novel bioprocessing techniques
•To develop novel processes to extract bioactives from marine-sourced materials
•To isolate, purify and characterise these bioactive components
•To present results/ data generated in written (scientific and technical) and oral formats.
•Candidates must have an honours Level 8 degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry /Marine Sciences or a related discipline.
•A postgraduate degree and/or research experience in Biotechnology / Biochemistry /Marine Sciences would be a distinct advantage
