Vibro-acoustic modeling of high voltage electronic devices in the French grid
● Description of the theme of research :
High voltage devices produce vibrations on their own surfaces because of the electrical and magnetic fields. Thereby, they become noise sources.
For the moment, these noise sources are approximated by a perfect point source that emits through a sphere. But the feedback teaches us that this method is not sufficient anymore. We need to better characterize the sources directivity and how they propagate in space.
Several measurements have been achieved and the first results reveal the complexity in the sources characterization. The first studies show their limitations since we can’t find any match between measurements and simulation.
The aim of the research work is to develop a new vibro-acoustic modeling that takes in account the electromagnetic nature of the devices. These developments are intended to be plugged on Code_Aster.
● Description of job :
The student will share his/her time between the lab and the company offices. He/she will start by a work on modeling the different physics that are involved and then the coupling has to be tackled. All this modeling and developing work will be validated by experimentation that the student will design.
At the end, different kinds of devices will be tested to endure the method robustness.
