Marie Curie Actions funded job vacancy 1 post-doc position (Experienced Researcher) in MRI in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine

Within the Marie Curie Initial Training Network iTERM (www.itermproject.eu), we are offering 1 post-doc position in The Netherlands. iTERM is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) on Training scientists to develop and Image materials for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. iTERM will recruit 12 PhD students (Early-Stage-Researchers, ESR) and 1 postdoc (Experienced Researcher, ER).

Description

In the iTERM project (www.itermproject.eu) a skilled post-doc (Experienced Researcher (ER)) with MR experience is needed to ensure a quick start at an advanced level. Together with the PhD-students (Early Stage Researchers, (ESR)) the ER will make existing MR hardware and methods operational and will develop or implement and optimize new dedicated MR approaches. This includes the realization of MR imaging of engineered tissue on new RF probes (e.g. bone MRI with 1H, 19F and 31P coils). The ER will collaborate closely with our engineers, who will build RF coils for animals and humans. Testing of materials in vitro and in vivo (animal) will be done on high field MR systems (7T, 11.7T). Specific topics are imaging of viscous or (semi-) solid material, cell tracking and perfusion and diffusion imaging of tissues. The ER will advice, assist and train the ESRs in the understanding and use of MRI and thus will play a central role in the support of the scientific work and education of the ESRs. He/she will also coordinate the MR efforts by different partners.
