Project overview: The work will be integrated in the MAT (Media Arts and Technology) project, WP2 on Social TV. This Work Package aims at researching and developing new scenarios for the creation, distribution and consumption of multimedia services, including television. Immersive and interactive applications as well as intelligent media management are aspects to consider. The work to be developed within this scholarship includes research and development of new technologies that enable the implementation of innovative aspects in the domain of the television service and other means of content distribution. This may include personalization, participatory approaches, interactive services, new media formats, media asset management, dual and multiscreen applications.
Objectives: The postdoctoral researcher shall: develop software in either of the areas described; publish in
international conferences and journals in the area; collaborate and lead new research project proposals.
Academic Qualifications: PhD in Electrical and Computers Engineering, Computer Science, Multimedia or similar.
Minimum Profile required: Previous knowledge in the area of multimedia systems and programming skills.
Preference factors: Previous working experience in research projects and in the supervision of small research teams;
publications in conferences and journals in the area of multimedia.
Monthly Grant: €1495, The grant holder may also benefit from additional incomes in the sequence of a quarterly evaluation process (Clauses 12 and 13 of INESC Porto Grants Regulation and Annex II), up to a maximum of 50% of the monthly grant.

Foundation) in 12 January 2011.
