Salary: This appointment will be made on the Lecturer salary scale in line with current Government Pay Policy. Appointment of this post will be no higher than the 8th point of the Lecturer scale.
School of Social Sciences and Philosophy
The School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, formed in 2005, consists of the departments of Economics, Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology. With over 45 full-time academic staff the School aims to create a sharp focus for Social Science research and teaching and to both facilitate and strengthen ties between the Social Sciences and Philosophy. The School based upon these four departments is unique in Ireland, and offers a large and flexible platform upon which to promote existing areas of excellence while developing innovatory teaching and research programmes and activities. In addition, the School is the home of the Policy Institute, which provides an important link to the policy sector. High priority is given to postgraduate research training.
