Please note that the job is no longer active!
The Data Mining and Machine Learning team of LIRIS lab at INSA-Lyon engineering school offers a postdoc position for an IAPP project that examines solutions to enhance a social media search engine platform developed by one of the partners. The data browsed by this search engine reflect people's activities, interests, and attention, in thousands of localities worldwide and are used to supply a recommender system. The postdoc will help lead and guide this IAPP project. The position is planned for a 20 months period, starting no later than April 2014. If you are an independent, imaginative and creative researcher, we would love to see you here!
The Data Mining and Machine Learning team of LIRIS lab at INSA-Lyon engineering school is seeking a post-doctoral research associate to support an IAPP research project in social media analytics. The
project focuses on developing technology for a recommender system such as trajectory mining algorithms to predict local demographic flows and local event detection algorithms. As such, its research is broad, looking at network structure, dynamics of the network structure and the content. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more areas related to statistical approaches of machine learning, data mining and social network analysis. Specifically, we are looking for someone with expertise and/or interest in large-scale statistical mining to research ways to better understand how to detect, track and monitor social media aspects such as events and trajectories. We are particularly interested in how these evolve and how to detect or predict interesting changes. A PhD in computer science or related fields is required as well as not having worked in France the last 3 years (IAPP project requirement).
