Marie Curie Actions funded job vacancy Researcher in Computational Mechanics

The candidate should carry out research in computational mechanics based on the execution of Finite Element (FE) analyses, with particular focus on
material modeling.
The research will encompass the use of material models available in commercial FE codes as well as the implementation of user defined material models to accurately reproduce the experimental lab data. To this purpose, FE optimization tools will be also used.

Description

The candidate should carry out research in Solid Mechanics with particular reference to constitutive modelling of rock-like materials. The models will be developed within elastoplasticity, calibrated on experimental results and implemented in finite elements numerical codes. Modelling of sintering of ceramics will be addressed within a rigorous thermodynamic framework.
Besides ENGINSOFT, the consortium involves: the University of Trento specialized in Solid Mechanics, the University of Liverpool, specialized in Mathematical and Numerical Modelling; the Aberystwyth University, specialized in Applied Mathematics and Materials Physics; SACMI, a leader Industry operating in the field of ceramics and covering the entire process of ceramic production, from the powder to the final piece and design of the machineries for production.
Due to Trans-national mobility requirements the experienced researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date. Short stays such as holidays and/or compulsory national service are not taken into account.
After the completion of the project, further job opportunities may be available. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interests, a list of publications and one letter of recommendation from supervisor or employers.
The candidate will be also involved into other Enginsoft activities, for specific customers (like CFD and FEM analysis). IT could also possible to make experience in the different subsidiary companies of Enginsoft.
