Within the Marie Curie IAPP (Industry Academia Partnerships and Pathways) project “KINOPTIM”, the MEDETIC, has an open position as ER<10 (duration 12 months) in the field of Computer Sciences, Signal Processing and Network Architect.
The specific position involves participation in KINOPTIM specific tasks with a main focus on:
• integrating fall detections (détecteur de chute) in a retired pension home,
• developing a correlation program with data from fall detection sensors and the patient's specific profile
• networking the whole program.
The candidate will be part of a multiplidiscinary team. He/she will participate to:
• the study of the state of the art,
• the writing of the specification.
• The design and conception of the whole system in a patient's room.
• The assessments, tests and recommandations.
He/she should be :
• A software designer (good knowledge of C++ and other languages
• A network architect (LAN, WAN)
• be open-minded and easy to go with elderly people
• be fluent in English (writing and speaking)
• Have a good team spirit
He/she is expected to play a major role in the communication between the MEDETIC staff involved in the project and the other academic and industrial partners. At this end and among others, he/she will prepared reports and presentations for interactions with colleagues and partners of the consortium, as well as meetings, reports and journal publications in accordance with the specific deadlines.

First Stage Researcher (R1)
Fellows will receive the standard EC Marie Curie IAPP Living Allowance, and in addition mobility allowance around 1.000 Euros per month (higher mobility allowance for researchers with family). The position will be based at MEDETIC (10, rue du Rhin 68320 Muntzenheim or 12, rue Pajol 78018 Paris) (http://www.medetic.com) for 12 months and will start on 1st Octoberber 2013.

The candidate should be a Engineer in Computer Sciences and Signal Processing. Experience in Computer Sciences, Signal Processing and Network Architecture is required. A good knowledge of C++ software language and other languages as well as LAN and WAN will be appreciated. The candidate should have good interpersonal communication skills, good communication both in English and French, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, highly-motivated, eager to learn and has strong analytical and synthesizing abilities.

The KINOPTIM project is funded by the EU FP7-People Marie Curie Actions funding scheme: Industry Academia Partnerships and Pathways and will be running for 4 years. The project is led by the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens in Greece and involves 6 others partners: the Electronics Department of the university of Barcelona (Spain), the applied mechanics department of Centro de Estudios e investigaciones tecnicas (Spain), the PRISME Laboratory of the University of Orléans (France), the R&D department of SingularLogic SA. (Greece), the R&D office of BRAINSTORM Multimedia (Spain) and the R&D department of MEDeTIC (France).
KINOPTIM aims at developing, integrating and piloting an infrastructure for the implementation of a comprehensive and holistic fall management service by means of innovative usage of technologies. The platform will rely on ICT and virtual reality gaming throughout the exploitation of haptic technologies and vision control and will address older people living in the community, both in a preventative (falls prevention) and reactive manner (detection safety and independent living support).
Nationals of a member state of the EU, of an associated state or of any other third country are eligible. Applicants should not have lived in France for more than 12 months in the last three years. This offer provides an equal opportunity for women and men.
