Marie Curie Actions funded job vacancy Full Time Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher Position in the fields of real-time Computer Graphics, Computer Vision and HCI for Cultural Heritage

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill one (1) full time Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher Fellow Position within the Institute of Computer Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH) in the fields of Computer Graphics, Computer Vision and Human Computer Interaction (HCI) for Cultural Heritage:
The selected Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher (ESR) will work within the ITN-Digital Cultural Heritage (ITN-DCH) Marie Curie ITN Programme for 30 months. ITN- DCH is a major EU funded programme which brings together fourteen (14) leading European partners in a transnational network, aiming at implementing a multidisciplinary and intersectorial research and training programme between the academic and the industrial project partners. The Early stage researcher will perform research in the areas of mobile mixed reality, real-time computer graphics and interactive virtual characters.

Description

Project title: Interactive mixed reality environments in digital cultural heritage
Objectives:
• Computer graphics related research in rendering and animation methods for Augmented and Virtual Reality modern mobile applications
• Vision based user gesture tracking and activity recognition
• Geometric and Illumination registration for dynamic scenes in AR
• Context-Aware Adaptive Rendering System for User-Centric Pervasive Computing Environments
• Cross-testing and validation with Europeana and MoW metadata model

The Applicant should:

Have a Master Decree from a recognized university in Computer Science, Engineering and preferably on Computer Graphics/Vision or HCI with at most four (4) years of a continuous full-time research experience in the above fields, excellent programming skills and language implementation skills
At the time of recruitment, not have resided (or carried out his/her main activity e.g. work, studies, etc.) in Greece, for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to the reference recruitment date.
Excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written). Sufficient knowledge of computer graphics is essential.
