AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, the Austrian research institute with European format which focuses on the key infrastructure issues of the future, is looking to strengthen its team, in the Mobility Department, with the immediate appointment of a The PhD thesis, “Efficient energy storage material and modeling for green vehicles”, will be prepared within the EMVeM (Energy efficiency management for Vehicles and Machines) project, an EU-funded Marie Curie Initial Training Network.
MSc in chemistry, chemical engineering, material sciences, applied physics or similar
Background knowledge on electrochemistry and electrochemical methods (devices)
Interest and knowledge in modeling and simulation
Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
The candidate should not have resided or carried out her/his main activity in Austria for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to her/his appointment.
R&D on new battery materials for high-energy, efficient energy storage systems (metalbased composites, high-voltage materials);
Intelligent management of such systems through development of multi-physical simulation code for analysis of the energy storage´s behavior and its implementation in a vehicle model

The annual gross salary is at least EUR 30.800,00 per year plus mobility allowance.
