Marie Curie Actions funded job vacancy Researcher - Differentiation of mouse ES/EpiS and hman iPS cells into cardiac, endothelial and smooth muscles.

Researcher on Stem cell differentiation is available within the "Marie Curie Actions - Initial Training Networks" program of EU.

Description

Objectives: Identification of environmental programming effects in prenatal stages on gene/metabolic pathways, stress resistance and differentiation
Tasks and methodology: -Comparing mouse ES/EpiS cell lines generated from mouse embryos exposed to variable in vitro culture conditions (nutrient changes, cell lines provided by USH) and their differentiation capability into cardiac, endothelial and smooth muscles in vitro (using established methods at BIO, fluorescent microscopy, flow cytometry, multiplate reader, real time RT PCR, in vivo fluorescent imaging).
-Generation of human iPS cell lines and their differentiation as above.
-Exposure of the above cell lines and differentiated cells to H2O2 and study of their survival and cell death (fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry).
Results: i) Results on the effect of nutrient changes on the differentiation potential and stress resistance of mouse ES/EpiS cells.
ii) Effect of genetic reprogramming on the differentiation potential of hiPS cells and on their resistance to oxidative stress.

Job requirements:
Experience in Human / Mouse cell culture and fluorescent microscopy is a MUST.
Experience in molecular biology (cloning, PCR), flow cytometry and stem cell culture is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Englisg is required.
