Description

As a senior engineer, in the field of casting technology, you will be responsible for:

developing new casting alloys, as well as the casting process for these new alloys;
product design & development specifically for casting products;
casting process optimisations.

You will design new and challenging industrial projects:

You will be actively involved in drafting customer proposals;
You will be responsible for designing, performing and delivering these proposals;
You will report to the customer on project progress and project results.

You are a driving force in the search for and initiation of exciting R&D projects:

Armed with in-depth knowledge of the industry and state-of the-art-technology, you shape R&D projects and ensure their smooth implementation;
You regularly report on project progress and research results to all stakeholders in the research.

You ensure optimum dissemination of expertise to the industry:

You manage and maintain state-of-the-art expertise on casting technology and in this connection, you strive towards recognition as a senior expert in this field and build up a strong network;
You are familiar with the technological challenges in the field of casting products within the technology industry;
You disseminate and communicate your state-of-the-art expertise on casting products (by regularly publishing articles in newspapers and scientific publications and giving presentations at events).

Profile

Master's degree or PhD in Engineering or equivalent through experience.
You have acquired state-of-the-art expertise in the field of casting technology.
Experience in setting up partnerships is useful. You have the power of persuasion required to involve partners in projects.
You have experience in setting up projects using your own expertise.
You take initiatives, you are a driver.
You are motivated by innovation and its practical implementation.
You are good at making contacts and are capable of using your expert profile to establish contacts with various partners within industry and research.
Language skills: Dutch, French & English, German is an advantage.

Offer
You will be based at our site in Ghent with regular trips to our other sites, partners and customers in Belgium and elsewhere in Europe.

You will report to the 'Engineering with Metals' Program Manager.
