1) Single atom - single photon interactions and photon-photon interactions using ultracold atoms and chip-based micro-resonators. 2) Detection and fast measurement of nano-structures and molecular surface interactions with chip-based optical micro-resonators
Phd Research position in the department of Department of Chemical Physics at Weizmann institute of Science in the group of Barak Dayan for 5 years. In our lab we have two directions of research: 1)Cavity-QED with single, laser-cooled Rb atoms and chip-based optical micro-resonators. Our aims in this field are harnessing the mediation of a single atom to control single photons, for example demonstrating a single-photon optical switch, quantum memory and optical quantum gate. 2)Harnessing our ultra-high-quality chip-based micro-resonators for performing sensitive and fast measurements of nano-scale interactions and objects, such as plasmonic nano-antennas, quantum-dots, molecular mono-layers, and even Van-der-Waals forces.
