A post-doc position in language technologies
The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT-BAS), opens a post-doc position in language technologies. The research work will be focused on automatic annotation (tagging or keywording) of large-scale image collections.
The position is funded via the project AComIn "Advanced Computing for Innovation", a FP7 Capacity grant strengthening the reseach potential of IICT-BAS by employment of incoming researchers. In the AComIn context, 'incoming researcher' is a scientist who has been working outside Bulgaria for more than 2 years during the last 3 years. The position will be opened for 18 months. The successful candidate will be involved in research related to semantic image annotation, key word expansion, word-sense disambiguation, and multilingual aspects. Experiments will be carried out with image archives provided by Imagga Technologies Ltd (www.imagga.com). The post-doc will work in the Linguistic Modelling Department (www.lml.bas.bg).
The applicants should have a completed PhD or equivalent in Computational Linguistics (or Computer Science with focus on NLP and/or Information Retrieval) and interest in Computer Vision and Image Analysis.

The monthly salary is compliant to the FP7 Marie Curie rates. The employed researcher will have the opportunity to attend conferences in order to deliver presentations of accepted papers.
