Development of new nano-SQUID magnetic sensor devices with single spin sensitivity for study of topological states of matter and vortex dynamics in superconductors
Phd Research position in the department of Department of Condensed Matter Physics at Weizmann institute of Science in the group of Eli Zeldov for 4 years. We are developing a new nano-scale SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) that resides on a very sharp tip and can measure local magnetic fields with very high sensitivity and spatial resolution that could detect the magnetic field of a single electron spin. We incorporate the nano-SQUID on a tip in STM-like scanning probe microscope allowing investigation of novel states of matter, quantum magnetism, and dynamics of individual vortices in superconductors.
