Marie Curie Actions funded fellowship MACROHIST

Applications are invited for Early Stage Researcher (ESR) and Experienced Researcher (ER) Fellowships funded as part of Marie Curie Initial Training Networks, under the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme. The fellowships will sponsor young researchers at one of seven participating institutions:

The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Switzerland)
University of Oxford (United Kingdom)
Humboldt University (Germany)
London School of Economics and Political Science (UK)
Sciences Po (France)
Universidad Carlos III (Spain)
Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium)

Macroeconomics and economic history students will be exposed to the training provided by both subdisciplines and will be involved in cross-disciplinary research projects which combine theoretical and empirical sophistication, on the one hand, with a historical sensitivity to context on the other.

Eligibility criteria

The Early Stage Researchers (ESR):
• At the time of recruitment, have not yet been awarded the doctorate degree and is in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of his/her research career;
• The basic living allowance for the Early Stage Researcher Fellowships is up to 38,000€/year + mobility allowance (€1000/month for researchers with family charges; €700/month for researchers without family charges).

The Experienced Researchers (ER):
• at the time of recruitment, are: a) in possession of a doctoral degree, independently of the time taken to acquire it, or has at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience and b) has less than five years of full-time equivalent research experience.
• The basic living allowance for the Experienced Researcher Fellowships is up to 58,500 €/year + mobility allowance (€1000/month for researchers with family charges; €700/month for researchers without family charges).

Mobility rules

The researchers may be a national of a Member State, of an Associated Country or of any other third country, but they must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of his/her host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment.

Applicants are requested to check the available positions offered by each partner institution on the website of the project, and then send their CV and Cover letter (including details of 3 referees) directly to the partner institution(s) they are interested in. Please mention MACROHIST in the subject line. The positions are open until they are fulfilled.
