Genetic analysis of the response of a panel of varieties and near isogenic lines of durum wheat and of a panel of maize hybrids to drought

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The response of reference species such as maize and durum wheat to stresses is crucial for plant breeding, to improve the ability of the plant to react to adverse conditions, like drought, in the perspective of obtaining varieties for a more demanding and sustainable agriculture. In this research project, the genetic response to drought and its impact on grain yield will be investigated in a collection of durum wheat cultivars and maize hybrids (fully molecularly genotyped) by means of phenotypic tests in the field (a different water levels). At the same time, the data collected on trials conducted both in the field and in controlled conditions on eight Near Isogenic Lines of durum wheat will be analyzed. Mainly, the post-doc will be involved in the whole data sets analysis.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
