ENVIRONMENTAL AND BIOLOGICAL MONITORING OF AIR POLLUTION GENOTOXIC EFFECTS

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The widespread use of genotoxicity tests is due to the fact that many carcinogens cause this type of damage to DNA of target cells. Indeed, an increase in cancer risk has been observed in subjects with a high level of chromosomal aberrations and micronuclei in several studies. For the present research project, genotoxicity testing will be performed by using the comet assay and the micronucleus test.

The single-cell microgel-electrophoresis (“comet”) assay rapidly detects primary DNA damage (strand-breaks) in eukaryotic cells.

Micronuclei (MN) appear in the cytoplasm of interphasic cells as small additional nuclei and are formed of acentric chromosomal fragments or whole chromosomes that are not included in the main daughter nuclei during nuclear division.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
