The research project aims to examine smart object for domestic application analyzing the most suitable design techniques and the evaluation methods of usability and user experience.
The Smart Object trend consists in assigning "smartness" to everyday objects, pointing to improve and make people's life experience less complex.
Among applications of greater impact, there are smart objects designed for frail categories (specifically the elderly and the disabled).
These new interfaces, where digital information and physical aspect cross each other, impose de facto a transformation of the ways of interaction between human and machine. The Interaction becomes more complex and it is indispensable to identify new design and evaluation techniques that, considering multiple involved parts, aim at optimize the user experience of end user.
