The research is intended to reconstruct the interpersonal network of elderly persons, living alone and in relational poverty, by planning and applying a model of home care intervention that creates daily moments of socialisation and intergenerational encounters. Since this is a pilot project, there will be an initial “protected” experimental phase, with recourse to trainees in the degree course “Scienze dell’Educazione e della Formazione” of Padua University, and then to suitably trained young people in the territory, with a view to networking and community development. Positive results are expected from this project on both an individual level, allowing elderly persons to live better and more stimulating relationships, give more significance to their daily lives and be part of their community, and on a social level, by starting up new dynamics of local solidarity and making young people aware of their responsibility towards the older generation.
