Aim of this research is to progress in the knowledge of brain functioning through models explaining dorsal and ventral patterns, in order to clarify the role of sensory information for perception and motor control and how these two processes interact. This study is about not only different sensory modalities, but also their possible integration in a multisensory perspective. The sample will include subjects with neurological or metabolic diseases enrolled during their hospital rehabilitation after the acute event or in a chronic phase. The research will foresee the application of different methods, in particular behavioral experiments, on the basis of their scientific relevance in the research area. Moreover it will require to extend the evidence for effective of neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation programs used in the clinical practice from this conceptual and theoretical perspective.
