Eating disorder behaviors and trait emotional intelligence in obesity

Primary objective: to study the link between Trait Emotional intelligence and Eating Behavior Disorders and other psychological variables in subjectict with obesity of different severity, particularly in subjects with morbid obesity candidated to bariatric surgery and in a control population. The study will be carried out by the following self administered questionnaires: Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire–Short Form (TEIQue–SF); Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ); Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ); Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance Questionnaire-3 (SATAQ-3); Body Image Disturbance Questionnaire (BIDQ); State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Back Depression Inventory (BDI), Binge Eating Scale (BES).
Secondary objective: to test the reliability of TEIQue as tool to determine the cut-offs of psychopathology in the different subgroups of eating behavior disorder patients, and to monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
