The researchers involved in the project will carry out research on chemico-nutritional and physical properties of food waste and feeds. They will perform analysis using both conventional and innovative non-invasive NIRS (Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy) methods to investigate different parameters such as acidity, moisture, crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber, Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) , Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), Lignin (ADL), nitrogen fractions related to fiber (NDF-N and N-ADF), tannins, antioxidants (polyphenols) and mycotoxins.
