The project is part of the research on philology, grammar and scholarship in the ancient world. The work will concern the historical development of philology of Hellenistic and Roman ages and will include the study of figures who played a role in the history of ancient scholarship, as well as methods, contents and forms of ancient exegetical products, and the specific terminology. Lexicographical researches can be worked out in two directions: the study of grammatical terminology and technical vocabulary used by the ancients and the diachronic development of the lexicography as a genre in ancient world. The results of the project can be disseminated thanks to the publication in the Lessico dei Grammatici Greci Antichi (LGGA), as well as in the Poorly Attested Words in Ancient Greek (PAWAG) archive (both on line: www.aristarchus.unige.it)
